The First Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Remains Committed.
Across the gaming landscape, enthusiasts continue to ring the death bells for the Xbox brand. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a relatively obscure console. Dedicated Xbox communities have started writing on PS5 topics as a new development. The past year represented a period of total upheaval for the Xbox ecosystem. Yet, based exclusively on the titles headed to the service in 2026, it becomes clear that Xbox still intends to draw people in with strong games on its flagship service.
The Current Inclusions
The duo of games you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Major Titles on the Horizon
Come mid-January, Game Pass will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that deviates from conventional open-world tropes with a space-faring criminal escapade. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of terror and combat."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
But even the smaller games coming to Game Pass soon are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler offering thrilling gameplay, becomes available next week — and you should try it whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year might get its hooks in you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Robust Selection of Games
Ultimately, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, nor are they tentpole Microsoft studios games that validate the subscription by themselves. Yet, this selection are very dependable. The lineup provides a solid mix of older titles you may have skipped and new-ish games that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — which makes them perfect candidates to find a new audience on Game Pass.
Be prepared to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
