Clair Obscur Triumphs at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. The breakout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive won the prestigious Top Game award, along with prizes for Superb Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Enhancing the developer's success, its talented actors also received individual awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Performer for his acting as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Best Development Team. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its developers collected seven awards during the event.
Other major winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and PC Game of the Year. Notably, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the gamers, with only four special—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers' Favorite—decided by experts.
