British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday evening. The athlete was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans shared its support for the star in the following the heartbreaking incident.
